Job Summary

Under the supervision of the associate director of philanthropy, this professional is responsible for coordinating and executing Healthcare Network’s development plans to increase awareness and to support the goals of the organization. This position requires a strong writer with a multimedia skill set.

·         Develop copy for newsletters, donor letters, social media, etc. to communicate Foundation initiatives and needs of the organization.

·         Manage donor database and communication to donors and potential donors.

·         Manage events calendar for Development & Community Awareness committee and other sub-committees.

·         Plan and execute Foundation or fund-raising events.

·         Represent Healthcare Network at community events.

Responsibilities and Standards

·         Assist with developing and implementing an annual fundraising plan, including special campaigns (year-end, Give Where You Live, Capital Campaign and other special efforts) and associated donor communications.

·         Assist with social media planning, content creation, and interaction with contacts.

·         Attends networking and community events as needed.

·         Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.

·         Develop copy and distribute monthly (or other) newsletters to communicate with donors, potential donors, and community members.

·         Ensure and maintain a functioning donor database based upon industry best practices.

·         Establish and maintain processes and procedures for tracking donor gifts, donor information, and other key data.

·         Manage gift acknowledgment process and year-end statements to donors.

·         Provide event planning and support at functions (e.g., attendee tracking, event files and internal calendars, committee meetings, special events, etc.)

·         Support Development & Community Awareness committee meetings and other sub-committee meetings as applicable, including meeting logistics and minutes.

 

Job Specifications               

  • Annual, Major Gift, Endowment, and Planned Giving gift expertise (required).
  • Raiser’s Edge database management experience (preferred).
  • Blackbaud ResearchPoint system experience (preferred).

§  Excellent oral and written communication skills and comfort with engaging in communications with high-net-worth individuals, business leaders, and foundations.

  • Demonstrated ability to support the organization’s mission and goals.
  • May be required to perform duties and responsibilities not listed in this description on a temporary or long-term basis.

 

Experience

·         Education/Training Level:

o    Bachelors’ degree in relevant field, preferred

    • Must have at least three years’ relevant experience

·         Licenses and Certifications: 

o    State of Florida Driver’s License with 2-year clean driving record

·         Communication Skills:

    • Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Creole)
    • Must effectively interact with all levels of individuals – from patients to high-net-worth donors
    • Must have above average ability to communicate, in written and verbal form

·         Technology Skills:

o    MS systems (Office 365)

o    Knowledge of RE or similar fundraising database
