About us - Parkinson’s Association of Southwest Florida is a local non-profit serving Collier and Lee Counties.  We provide proven and effective programs and services that improve quality of life, educate, enrich, and empower people affected by Parkinson’s Disease and related neurodegenerative diseases. Description - The Association seeks a bright and highly-motivated individual with attention to detail for all administrative aspects of the Association’s Development efforts. The full-time Development Specialist reports to the Executive Director.  Responsibilities include donor data management, gift acknowledgement, special event operations, and assisting with event volunteers. Strong attention to detail, excellent customer service and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high level of customer service for members, existing and prospective donors.
  • Maintain, update, and refine all aspects of the Association’s Donor Perfect database.
  • Manage processing of all gifts (mail, on-line credit cards, stock transfers, pledges, matching gifts, and planned gifts), coding and documenting - as well as timely (weekly) preparation of acknowledgement of gifts/tax letters.
  • Prepare bank deposits, batch all deposits, and coordinate reporting with bookkeeper.
  • Manage preparation for and execution of events including on-line registration and reporting.
  • Serve as the primary contact, beyond the Executive Director, for fundraising events.
  • Create and manage online forms for ticket sales and event registrations, assist guests who have questions, prepare check-in lists and train check-in volunteers.
  • Prepare donor database reports– weekly, per event, and as requested.
  • Provide onsite event day support at the special events, some during the evening or on weekends.
  • Assist with the writing and editing of acknowledgements, donor news, reports, and proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Administrative Support

  • Greet guests, members, donors and visitors and connect them with the appropriate staff.
  • Answer phone in a timely manner, providing appropriate information and resources.
  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director related to the Board of Directors and Committees.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Provide input on updates for the website and e-communications.

Experience, Abilities & Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an area related to data base management, office administrative support, development, or event coordination. Prior nonprofit work experience a plus.
  • Excellent skills/experience with Office 365, databases, and internet research; knowledge of Donor Perfect a plus.
  • Exceptional skills in organization, time management, managing multiple tasks; attention to detail, define/set priorities, problem solve.
  • A team-oriented attitude with the ability to be a self-starter.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • A sense of humor, empathy, and the ability to listen make a difference in the lives we serve.

Pay: $19-$22 per hour
