JOB SUMMARY
The Development Associate, working under the supervision of the Executive Director Operations, is responsible for
maintaining the accuracy of information in the CRM database through documented data standards and daily monitoring
of database activity. The Development Associate develops working relationships with the Philanthropy department’s
development and administrative staff and is responsible for actively expanding the information retained in the database
to meet the growing needs of fundraising staff, particularly annual fund, stewardship, research, and gift processing staff.
The Development Associate participates in receiving, recording, receipting, sending reminders, and acknowledging
donations as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Other duties may be assigned.
• Effectively integrate into and support the overall goals of the Development Services team, which includes the
maintenance of current and accurate donor information and the timely processing and acknowledging of
donations.
• Monitor day-to-day integrity of database and database procedures by conducting daily, weekly, and monthly
audits of data to confirm use of accurate data entry processes.
• Actively liaise with other Development staff including research, stewardship, and field staff to receive and record
updated donor information and to identify and eliminate redundant records.
• Import large volumes of data into the donor database from ancillary software programs including G2G Gobel
Platform, Epic Ancillary orders, Payroll Deduct data for employee giving and GiveGab Crowdfunding Platform.
• Generate Physician Champion letters as part of our grateful patient program. Assist in recording of these
Actions.
• Generates personalized Donor Acknowledgement letters for $1M+ gifts; works with admin support staff to
coordinate CEO signatures.
• Coordinates with Donor Relations and Stewardship Manager to ensure major gift donors receive stewardship
gifts.
• Creates and/or archives donor proposals and stewardship report, collaborates and coordinates with campaign
consultant in generation of proposals.
• Manages scheduling for Major Gift Officers with other key NCH department leaders and administration for
tours, lunches, and meetings with prospects.
• Responsible for generation of monthly pledge reminders; reviews upcoming reminders with
development/operations staff for accuracy.
• Works in conjunction with our leadership annual giving program to generate and send renewal letters in a timely
manner.
• Recommends new approaches, procedures, and processes to effect continual improvements in efficiency of
department and services performed.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of Associate Degree required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Marketing, Communications, Development, Non-Profit or related field
required.
• Ability to think systematically about problems and is successful at finding appropriate solutions.
• Takes initiative and is self-motivated; completes tasks in a timely manner.
• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to exercise good judgement and handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate directly and effectively with
others.
• Tactfulness, flexibility, and creativity are essential in working with diverse population groups (constituents,
physicians, patients, staff, vendors, etc.).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• A demonstrated ability to produce error free work when performing a variety of functions such as typing, text
editing, data entry, file management, and calculations is required.
• Prior Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
