JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

Title:

Annual Giving & Stewardship Manager

Reports to:

Chief Development Officer

Status:

 

Full-time, Exempt

Description:

 

 

 

Responsible for developing a strategic program of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of potential and current donors from critical constituencies within The Shelter base of support and providing support for all Development efforts.  

 

 

Requirements &

Skills:

 

 

 

 

*Bachelor’s Degree

*2 years proven track record in solicitation and fund raising

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in one on one and   group settings

* Ability to diplomatically communicate and interface with Shelter supporters in varied situations

* Management experience with organizational staff and volunteer leadership

* Highly organized with great attention to detail

* Ability to multi-task and “think on your feet”

* Energetic

* Creative

* Event creation / planning / execution experience

* Knowledge of community and constituencies

* Commitment to peace in our homes and community

 

Duties:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oversight, coordination and management of identified constituencies to meet annual and long term budget goals and provide increased sustainability for The Shelter.

 Gift Solicitation and Donor Cultivation/Communication

  • Manage, execute and initiate donor cultivation efforts and strategies with:

1.    First Time Donors

2.    Loyal Donors

3.    Lapsed Donors

  • In concert with the Senior Development Officer, develop a method to reach to signature luncheon attendees and recurring annual donors to build donor loyalty
  • Manage, execute and initiate donor cultivation efforts and strategies with annual Mid-Level donors in concert with the Senior Development Officer as identified by the Chief Development Officer

Next Generation

  • Increase The Shelter’s leadership succession by developing, cultivating and expanding this volunteer group
  • Develop ways to engage constituencies beyond the Purple Party event

Events

Gentle’men Against Domestic Violence Annual Tailgate

  • Work in tandem with the Senior Development Officer to serve as  liaison to Chairs and Committee to initiate, facilitate, guide and provide all expertise needed for the event including:

1.    Logistics associated with execution before and day of event: sponsor materials and letters, event set-up, implementation and tear-down, timeline, budgets and contracts,

2.    Attends all Committee meetings

3.    Budget analysis comparison report for all event components

4.    Community Awareness sub-committee

Purple Party Event

  • Oversee, facilitate, guide and provide expertise needed for execution of this annual event

 

Bags & Bow Ties Biennial Luncheon event

  • Serve as liaison to Chairs and Committee to initiate, facilitate, guide and provide all expertise needed for event as included above

 

Provide support for and assume responsibilities as directed for the following Shelter fundraising events:

  • “Mending Broken Hearts with Hope” luncheon
  • Annual volunteer appreciation events
  • Outside events that benefit The Shelter  

Donor Data Base

*Work with the Senior Development Officer and Chief Development Officer to develop reports to guide fund raising strategies and initiatives
