Job Summary:
The Prospect Research Analyst is responsible for gathering, entering, interpreting, analyzing, disseminating, and managing data critical for securing philanthropic support for the Healthcare Foundation. The Prospect Research Analyst prepares formal prospect reports, summaries, data reports and analyses about individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations for major gift team.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a research analyst with non-profit experience and a proven track record of supporting the fundraising team and creative problem-solving to join a high-growth, mission-driven organization.

Reports to: President
Relationships: Board of Trustees, donors, volunteers, vendors, hospital staff, patients, coworkers and the community.
Standards of Performance
1. Identifies and conducts in-depth biographic research on new and existing major gift prospects. Conducts asset-based research on individuals and prepares written confidential informational pieces and prospect profiles.

2. Develops prospect lists/pools in support of various campaigns, projects and events, and serves as resource to major gift staff providing information as needed.

3. Designs and produces analytics/metrics and monitoring reports for the Major Gifts and Prospect systems. Manages data maintenance for Prospect Research, Prospect Management Reports, systems data and records upkeep.

4. Monitors the prospect pool and provides support to the Moves Management process including identifying prospects who need to be reviewed, preparing reports and other materials for review meetings, preparing follow-up materials and reports.

5. Analyzes and synthesizes accumulated information of individuals to assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity and linkages to Healthcare Foundation.

6. Evaluates research results to develop and implement further research strategies utilizing ethical intelligence-gathering techniques of the information profession.

7. Ensures complete, accurate, and timely updates of information maintained in Raiser’s Edge as it relates to biographical, business, research notes, and prospect management data.

8. Develops documents and presentation materials including but not limited to proposals for major gift solicitations, grants proposals, and slides for committee meetings, as requested.

9. Performs other tasks as needed.

10. Adheres to policies and work rules set for the in Human Resources Practices and Policies including but not limited to the area of appearance, safety, and confidentiality. Meets Foundation requirements for attendance and punctuality.

11. Communicates, cooperates and assists in a clear and courteous manner to all visitors, trustees, donors, coworkers, Sarasota Memorial Hospital physicians, staff and patients, and any customer service or corporation that supports Healthcare Foundation programs.

12. Agrees to maintain confidentiality per HIPAA laws as well as information pertaining to donors, files and other confidential information within the Healthcare Foundation.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 2 to 3 years related not-for-profit experience with background in data management or equivalent combination.
• Demonstrated experience in prospect research, development, library research or an information related field preferably in a higher education/healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of the range of resources available to prospect researchers and the ability to apply those resources in an organized and purposeful manner.
• Must maintain and exhibit the highest standards of ethical conduct.
• Organizational skills involving administrative processes and in working with colleagues and support staff.
• Ability to work as an integral part of a fundraising team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Raiser’s Edge and Wealth Engine preferred.
• Self-motivated with ability to work under deadlines
• Detail oriented with excellent record keeping skills
• Ability to work independently or in groups
