POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a bright, experienced individual to join our team as a Grants and Volunteer Manager. In addition to researching and writing grant proposals on behalf of our non-profit organization, you will be in charge of maintaining a grants calendar to monitor the application process and keep track of various deadlines. You should feel comfortable reaching out to institutional and potential donors and communicating with organizational leaders regarding their financial needs. This person also oversees the management and direction of our overall volunteer program. This includes maintaining volunteer recruitment, placement, retention, training, and engagement strategies across all programs of Boys & Girls Club of Collier County.
Our ideal candidate will be able to enthusiastically help our organization attain the support it needs to serve the young people enrolled in our youth development programs.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
GRANTS MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES: • Prepare compelling, effective, and well-written smaller grant applications (under $50,000), proposals, correspondences, and other documents for new and existing funders; • Manages the administration of grant cycles for all organizational grants from application to closing, ensuring that all grant requirements are met on time; • Search potential funding organizations and identify possible grant opportunities; • Organize regular grant meetings with department heads to discuss reporting, requirements, updates, issues, and recommendations;
• Assist in preparing budget for grant applications;
• Ensure error-free (both with information and grammar) grant submissions and grant reporting;
• Maintain grant database including complete records of current and past grant proposals;
• Maintain a grants calendar to monitor and track submitted, pending, and on-going proposals;
• Interact with funding organizations regarding the status of grant applications;
• Build a positive relationship with existing and potential funding sources;
VOLUNTEER MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works with department heads to develop a comprehensive volunteer needs assessment for Club activities;
• Manages recruitment and training of volunteers;
• Tracks volunteers and records skills, performance, availability, and scheduling through tracking software;
• Assists Community Engagement Manager in recruiting volunteers through local media, web, social media, and outreach;
• Works with Administration to develop a volunteer recognition program;
• Develops a volunteer manual for internal use that provides information and guidelines for staff;
• Develops a volunteer manual for volunteer use that provides Club information, scheduling procedures, job descriptions, and expectations;
• Works with department heads to schedule volunteers into shifts, based on needs and organizational priorities;
• Contacts volunteers to confirm their shifts' start and end times;
• Works to keep volunteers adequately informed about the Club and their duties, through orientation meetings, group sessions, manuals, emails, and phone calls;
• Ensures proper background checks are performed according to Florida State Law and Club policies;
• Works with appropriate staff to ensure volunteers are appropriately trained in their area of service;
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, or related major
• Preferred experience writing proposals, managing information, and working positively with people
• Excellent project management skills with experience in managing and supervising administrative projects
• Must possess excellent organizational skills
• Strong command over written and verbal communication
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
• Good understanding of our organization's overall mission
• Must be a positive person with the ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Experience with basic financial management skills, including developing and monitoring budgets
• A multi-tasker with a strong ability to work under pressure
• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results on time with attention to detail
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $42,000 - $48,000 based on education and experience.
