Financial Specialist Job Description

Our faith-based not-for-profit organization is searching for an experienced, reliable and detail-oriented finance specialist. We would like to hire someone to take care of all our day to day financial tasks. You will be responsible for booking income, expense, bill payment, payroll, fund disbursement, reconciliation, budgeting and reporting tasks. In addition, we are looking for someone who can advise the President on financial aspects of organization as it relates to our mission. Knowledge of Quickbooks and previous experience is required. Hourly rate is dictated by the level of experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:
● Book donor receipts and bank transactions weekly into bookkeeping software
● Log soft credit and non-credit transactions in the CRM software system
● Make bank deposits
● Perform bill payment activities
● Complete bank reconciliations monthly
● Oversee payroll functions via ADP
● Facilitate employee onboarding
● Compile monthly financial reporting, analysis and summarization of data
● Facilitate disbursement of funds to Orphanages/Homes and projects
● Monitor and followup on credit card expiring and past due manual recurring giving schedules
● Oversee and provide input on financial aspects of organization
● Cross reference and track discrepancies with Orphanage Home disbursement and
expense management
● Monitor and track accounts payable and receivables
● Monitor and facilitate resolution of any CRM financial issues
● Assist with annual audit
● Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete and up to data
manner
● Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules and regulations to all work in order to
ensure compliance with applicable standards
● Coordinate and maintain organization budget including disbursements to homes.
● Proactively make recommendations on how to improve processes and procedures
● Assist in tracking fundraising goals and strategies
● Facilitate year end donor giving statements via our CRM software

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
● 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
● Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
● Strong attention to detail
● High degree of accuracy
● Problem solving skills required
● Exhibits proactive traits
● Proficient in in Quickbooks and Excel
