DEPARTMENT: Administration

REPORTS TO: Executive Director


To generate fundraising income and public awareness of the Dr. Piper Center programs and services through special events for volunteers, donors, community leaders, and other constituents.

To generate fundraising income through fundraising events, grants targeting foundations, corporations, civic groups and individual donors within the community. Provide writing support for foundation and corporate grant requests, acknowledgement of donor gifts, and manage tracking of funds and reporting requirements.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

1. Strategic Planning
-Develop an annual strategic plan regarding activities relating to donor solicitations, special events and other fundraising efforts for approval by the Board of Directors.
-Implement strategic planning activities and update E.D. and Board of Directors regularly.

2. Resource Development
-Generate a 20% increase in annual revenue from fundraising events, corporate support and non-federal grants.
-Plan and implement fundraising events.
-Plan and implement creative events that facilitate solicitation of donations from target audiences.
-Identify and recruit corporate sponsors to underwrite event expenses or to donate gifts, cash or in-kind services to minimize expenses.
-Write grant proposals for foundation and corporate support.
-Work with Board of Directors and Staff to solicit corporations and civic groups for donations and other support.

3. Resource Management
Manage administrative and operational systems to:
-Track expenses involved in implementing all special events.
-Record all direct and indirect revenues realized by events.
-Track grant income, compile grant status reports and final reports.
-Recognize contributions with acknowledgement letters and special recognition events.
-Creating and executing a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors
-Submit fundraising revenue and expenses report every after fundraising event
-Ensure a productive working environment, providing volunteer support to the
management on grant and fundraising issues. Represents staff at various committee meetings, assists in mailings, writes follow up letters and enters necessary data regarding donors.
-Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or as assigned.

4. Program and Service Management
-Ensure effective program implementation and administration, making sure all events
and related logistics and support activities are carried out as scheduled.
-Evaluate success of fundraising or special events, as determined by appropriate measures such as attendance, revenues generated, public relations activity, etc.

5. Marketing and Public Relations
-Increase visibility of the Dr. Piper Center programs, services and activities through social media: website, Facebook, Twitter, newspaper and media contacts and target audiences of special events.
-Prepare and distribute press releases, community bulletins and quarterly newsletter.


Internal: Maintain close daily contact with the staff management and the Board of Directors to exchange information, seek and give assistance, consultation and direction. Maintains contact with support staff. Maintains verbal and written contact with volunteers and volunteer committees.

External: Maintains contact with community and corporate leaders, businesses, donors, sponsors to seek financial support and provide information regarding the Dr. Piper Center activities and needs.

-BA/and or at least 5 years’ experience in development and fundraising
-Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
-Extensive Computer Skills; Social Media

-Must have a valid driver’s license and own transportation.
-Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
