Special Events Coordinator

Job Description:

The corporate event planner will plan, organize, coordinate, promote and facilitate special events in accordance with Avow Foundation policies and procedures.

Conduct all Avow Foundation business in an ethical and respectful manner in adherence with the Compliance and Ethics Program.

Oversee and coordinate all details for Avow Foundation fundraising events for purposes of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship as applicable to the intended objective. Including but not limited to the Avow signature fundraising event as well as other segmented and targeted donor event-related activities.

In collaboration with the communications department assume lead role in preparing collateral materials, publicity, communication with sponsors, volunteers, committee members, medical and administrative staff.

Serve as Avow liaison for third party fundraising events hosted by community partners as well as employee giving events.
Negotiate in kind media and marketing contracts as well as all other vendor agreements as needed.

Develop event planning timeline, budgets and income projections for each event and completes a post event evaluation.
Collaborate with the volunteer services department to recruit and train event volunteers.

Promote positive relationships with major donors, prospects and representative organizations.

In collaboration with the fundraising team, meet with corporate and private donors to cultivate monetary and in kind donations to events.
Collaborate with the foundation team in developing follow-up plans for key prospects.

Meet or exceed fundraising goals for each event assigned.

Participate in development of corporate partnership and engagement opportunities.

Computer Skills:

Knowledge of basic typing skills, data entry and word processing software. Familiarity in database

software (preference given to Raiser’s Edge), and general knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office products is

required.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Five plus years of related professional/business experience and 2-5

years of fundraising experience preferred.

Language Skills:

Communication skills of reading, writing and speaking in English.

Math Skills:

Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages/fractions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CFRE preferred.

Other Qualifications:

Valid Florida driver’s license.
